I use the radio more than TV at home. I have zero aversion to the latter, but I find it more relaxing to listen to the news than watching it. That is especially true now that there is a pandemic going on, and most of us still need to stay quarantined. I do not mind being cooped up at home with the rest of my family, but I prefer not to see depressing footages and images, thank you very much.

The reality is, I have not had much time for AM stations until recently. The shows on FM stations are my favorite, perhaps because I love listening to songs and sometimes singing along with the artists. Of course, I also enjoyed spooky stories as a child, so I looked for podcasts that focused on those.

One of the long-running podcasts I found was called Beyond The Darkness. Let’s recall when Chris Jericho, a former pro wrestler, was still handling the show and what happened afterward.

Beyond The Darkness In The Beginning

As the home of some of the highly popular digital radio shows in the United States, the head of the PodcastOne company, Norman Pattiz, released a statement regarding the addition of Beyond The Darkness to their ever-growing list of podcasts.

The new program was quite dissimilar to the regular podcast that the network aired because it would dabble in the paranormal world and talk about the entities that are said to live in it. To be specific, the guests that would come in the show during the later dates are supernatural and ghost specialists who could shed some light on the authenticity of ghosts, demons, aliens, and much more. As this podcast would become a part of The Chris Jericho Network, the audience could expect it to stay on the lighter side of the spectrum.

Chris Jericho, a superstar in the World Wrestling Entertainment, served as the head of Beyond The Darkness. Dave Schrader, an executive producer of various paranormal talk shows by profession since 2006, and Tim Dennis, a paranormal enthusiast from a young age, were its newest hosts. Despite Chris being a professional wrestler, this program was not the first one that PodcastOne allowed him to host or manage. In his initial radio program called Talk With Jericho, he spoke widely about life and pop culture in general. Also, he had welcomed a few big names in various industries, including Motorhead’s Lemmy, Ghost Adventures’ Zak Bagans, KISS’s Paul Stanley, and a wide array of wrestling legends that his listeners might have missed.

According to Norman Pattiz, PodcastOne had a lot of confidence in Chris Jericho’s ability to attract more audiences because of the way he handled Talk With Jericho and his profound knowledge of diverse aspects of life. Thus, through the latest radio show, they aimed to help him expand his hosting skills by tackling paranormal issues that prevail up to this day.

As for Chris Jericho, the inclusion of Beyond The Darkness to his network under the same company made him excited and frightened at the same time because of the topics they may cover soon. Moreover, he looked forward to working alongside the paranormal veterans like Dave Schrader and Tim Dennis to bring more exciting and frightening talks regarding the unknown towards their future listeners.

Beyond The Darkness Now

The former wrestler may have moved on to other endeavors, but Dave Schrader and Tim Dennis have taken over as hosts of the show. The podcast has hundreds of episodes at the time of this writing, and I am only on the 50th one. It entails that I have enough episodes to listen to until the end of this pandemic.

Stay safe and tune into podcasts!
